thinkin' about time...

i dont know why it is, but it seems like the holidays always have a way of making me think... and this year is no different. the past few months have been some of the busiest times of our marriage and some of the most exciting times as well. it seems like every day there is something to do or something going on, and i havent taken time to just stop and think in a while... until now.

this chilly december evening finds me a bit under the weather, and yet in a way i'm thankful for that. its kind of forcing me to slow down from all of the running around that ive been doing lately. as i sit here on the couch, i am so confused at how it is december 12th already!? i mean how does that happen? 2009 will be here in a matter of weeks, and with that comes a new year, new adventures, new challenges, and for anne and i... a new addition. thats right folks, i'm gonna be a daddy! (definitely more to come on this in future posts)

anyways, last night i was on the phone with my great friend and long time bandmate matt, and we were talking about how fast time seems to go now days. he was saying how his one year anniversary is next week, and how it feels like they just got married yesterday. then we began talk about how fast time has flown since "the good ole days" of livin in a van, and driving all over the country playing music.

perhaps it was our conversation that got me thinking about time. and when we do stop and think about time, its almost like we cant help but start putting what we do and how we live our lives into perspective. its true... our lives really do matter. the things we say and do really can make some ones day or ruin some ones week, and it only takes a split second.

i wont ramble any more on this topic, but since i was thinking about time, i wanted to take this time i have tonight and use it wisely and maybe encourage some one to take a second to say something nice or smile at a stranger on the street... you never know what that might mean to them.

so until next time (which will be sooner rather than later because anne and i both are determined to get better at this blogging thing) from the same old hand-me-down couch on wisteria way... i hope you make the most of every minute!

Pek-A-Poo... I See You!

So, if you havent noticed by my witty title, there is a new furry addition to the zoo on Wisteria Way. With 4 cats, 1 dog, and up until last week a 3 year old beta fish (RIP Colt) already gracing the confines of our humble abode, we have added a new member to our family... Toby the pek-a-poo.

For those of you that are not familiar with the term pek-a-poo... its a cross between a pekingnese and a poodle. Basically, he's a fluffy poodle with a smooshed up face that weighs a whopping 3lbs at most and is a big time mama's boy. And what can I say, "mama" has become a big time Toby's mom. I am still waiting on the day I come home to Anne with the designer doggy bag on her shoulder so her and Toby can go on "walks". But hey, as Sheryl Crow once sang... "if it makes you happy, it cant be that bad". I think its safe to say that he has single handedly (or pawedly if you will) converted this devout cat-lover to a 24 year old with a serious case of puppy love.

Well, I guess thats enough ranting and raving about "the Tob-meister" for tonight. He has been a wonderful, fun, and exciting addition to the family and I'm sure this isnt the last you'll read about the newest member of the zoo-crew.

So until next time, from that same old hand-me-down couch on Wisteria Way...

At 10 weeks old... he weighed 1.8 lbs

Smilin' pretty for the camera

Playing with one of his favorite toys

Generic Blog #1...

Well, I was going to start off this whole blogging thing with a bang. BUT I was then informed by my better half that avoiding the generic "we're starting a blog!" blog would be a violation of blogging ediquette.

Soooo... not to get our blogging efforts started off on the wrong foot, I immediately agreed to re-think my plan of entry into this new world. What can I say... When in Rome...

Ok, here we go--

Hey guys & gals, Anne and I have decided to start a blog (bet you hadn't realized that yet)! We will do our best to update this as often as we can. Life is insanely crazy right now so time may be limited, but things to write about sure won't be. We hope you enjoy this insight into that which is "the anne & josh experience". Its a guaranteed good time!

Until next time, from the hand-me-down couch on Wisteria Way...
